Chasing Sunrise: Mount Batur
Hiking Mount Batur is an adventure I’ll never forget. It all starts in the early morning, long before the sun comes up. With a flashlight in hand and a group of fellow hikers, I began the climb in the cool, quiet darkness.
The trail was a bit of a challenge, but the excitement of reaching the top kept me going. As I walked, I could feel the mountain’s peaceful energy—it’s no wonder the Balinese people see it as a sacred place.
When I reached the summit, just in time for sunrise, it was absolutely breathtaking. The sky came alive with shades of orange, pink, and gold, and the clouds below looked like a soft, endless sea. It’s a view that made all the effort so worth it.
And the best part? Breakfast at the top. Our guide cooked eggs using the steam from the volcano, and we sipped on warm Balinese coffee while soaking in the view. It was simple, but it felt so special.
Mount Batur isn’t just a hike—it’s an experience that stays with you, a moment of peace and beauty you’ll carry forever.
